Yaz Birth Control |
Yaz birth control is a synthetic hormone form of contraception, first approved in the US in 2006. It's marketed by Bayer Healthcare, or Bayer Pharmaceuticals, and has also been approved in the US by the FDA as a treatment for acne vulgaris and for Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). It's sister contraception, also marketed by Bayer, is Yasmin, which was first approved in 2001. The two are sister drugs. Yaz birth control has synthetic estrogen and progestin in it, and works to prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. Yaz birth control also causes changes in the lining of the uterus, making it harder for any eggs that may happen to get fertilized, to attach to the uterine wall.
